Celebrating endurance and tradition

AlUla: The ultimate equestrian destination

AlUla has a long history of horse-riding and equestrianism, extending thousands of years and several civilisations back in time. Drawing on the region’s heritage, training programmes and new opportunities have been created for local horse riders and community members. Additionally, AlUla’s extraordinary landscapes make it the ideal setting for world-class adventure sports and equestrian events, further solidified by being selected as the host city for the prestigious 2026 FEI World Championships.

The Arabian horse and endurance riding

AlFursan Endurance AlUla is a powerful testament to the spirit of endurance, perseverance, and the unique bond between horse and rider. Rooted in Saudi Arabia’s deep equestrian heritage, the event honours the traditions of endurance riding and the Arabian horse.

The Arabian horse is one of the oldest and easily recognisable horse breeds in the world. Prized for their stamina, these magnificent creatures have been an indispensable part of life for centuries in the Arabian Gulf, remaining in close contact with humans and forming a close bond, essential for endurance riding.
