Any conversation about Ashar Valley must begin with Maraya, the astonishing piece of architecture that tricks the eye and then seduces it. Translating as ‘mirror’ in Arabic, Maraya is the world’s largest mirrored structure and has become an icon of AlUla, hosting art exhibitions, star-studded concerts, and providing chef Jason Atherton a place to present his fine dining dishes.

Is it free to enter Ashar Valley?

Yes, provided you have a reservation, ticket or invitation for any of the hotels, restaurants, or event spaces located within the valley.

Do I need a ticket to enter Maraya?

Yes, to enter Maraya, you must present a valid ticket.

Can I drive just to see Maraya and take photos outside?

Guests will need to present a restaurant reservation for Maraya Social, or a confirmation email to an event at Maraya to the Ashar Gate Security to access and drive to Maraya.

What hotels are located in Ashar Valley?

There are currently four accommodation options in Ashar Valley: Banyan Tree AlUla, Ashar Tented Resorts, Habitas AlUla and Caravan by Habitas.

What restaurants are located in Ashar Valley?

Acclaimed British chef Jason Atherton’s restaurant Maraya Social is located atop Maraya. There are also several restaurants within the valley, such as Saffron and Harrat at Banyan Tree AlUla, and Tama at Habitas AlUla, with three Habitas food trucks in caravans.

Am I able to visit the hotels without being a guest?

If you are not staying at the hotel, visitors will need to present a restaurant reservation or confirmation email for one of the available day passes to Ashar Gate Security to access any of the hotels.

What is best way to explore Ashar Valley?

Of course, a concert and dining at Maraya Social are highly recommended. To be fully immersed in the beauty of Ashar Valley, guests should consider staying at one of the hotels available. For those who only wish to visit, a day pass to one of the hotels' pools, spas or restaurants will also grant access to the valley.
